The TeX Catalogue OnLine, Entry for cropmark, Ctan Edition

Crop marks on \shipout.

The package subverts \shipout and has it recognise the circumstances in which it is being called. A short test program, which detects whether it is being run under Plain TeX or LaTeX, is provided.
