6.2.4 Scaling durations

You can alter the length of duration by a fraction N/M appending `*N/M' (or `*N' if M=1). This will not affect the appearance of the notes or rests produced. These may be combined such as `*M*N'.

In the following example, the first three notes take up exactly two beats, but no triplet bracket is printed.

     
     \time 2/4
     a4*2/3 gis4*2/3 a4*2/3
     a4 a4 a4*2
     b16*4 c4
