NEWS ABOUT TEA
TEA 14.0, 27 june 2006
http://tea-editor.sourceforge.net

Hello. The bad news that I still can't find a normal job. The fine news that TEA 14 is released. But what is actually new?
Approx. 45% of the code was rewritten or cleaned. An image viewer has the scaling abilities (use plus/minus key to scale an image). Imageplane is completely rewritten. The "Open at cursor" function now can to handle a selected text, so this function becomes useful also when the file name is not surrounded by the quites.
A new behavior of text-handling functions. If no text selected, a function will process the whole text.
Scripting support is added. TEA can work with Python, Perl and Bash scripts. For more details please read the Manual at the section Functions - Scripts. Treat such scripts as external text-processing functions, not less, not more. There are no scripts bundled with TEA tarball. You can download scripts from the TEA site.
A new function you shall find at Functions - Numbers. Use "Calculate" to evaluate some mathematical expression that is selected in the document's text. It means that you can write in your document "2+2", then select it, use Calculate and get the result at the Logmemo.
And the last thing that I want to say about TEA 14 - the improved "Text to HTML" function. That's all, stay tuned.
   P.S. Oh, meet a brand-new site!
